Stefano is professor of condensed matter theory and director of the CRANN Institute. He has 30 years of experience in materials modeling, including electronic structure theory, quantum transport, and machine learning for materials discovery.
He has led large-scale materials discovery projects and an organization of more than 250 researchers spanning physics, chemistry, engineering, biochemistry, and immunology.
Matteo is an AI engineer and computational physicist whose work spans fundamental scientific research, applied machine learning, and large language model systems.
During his PhD at Trinity College Dublin, he developed computational and machine-learning methods for materials science, before moving into scientific information extraction and automated document-to-data workflows.
Luke is an AI engineer and computational physicist with eight years of research experience spanning materials science, machine learning, and natural language processing.
He completed his PhD in physics at Trinity College Dublin in 2024, developing methods for materials discovery and extracting scientific knowledge from literature. His current work focuses on agentic AI systems for understanding and working with complex technical information.
Dan builds science-based companies. In addition to his work at Aforja Ventures, he is a co-founder of Remedy Bio, a functional single-cell technology company, and of Lucid Bio Systems, a cell therapy venture. He co-founded Genomics Medicine Ireland and led it to acquisition by Genuity Science.
Mr. Crowley previously served as Venture Partner at ARCH Venture Partners and as a Director at ARCH Europe. Before ARCH he was a Director at NDRC, founding one of Europe’s first science venture accelerators. He was formerly executive director and remains a board member at the Centre for Advanced Materials and Bioengineering Research based at Trinity College Dublin.

Martin founded and led HealthXL, a global digital health platform, from inception to successful exit (acquired by HLTH). He is a former partner at IBM Venture Capital, where he established IBM Venture Capital in EMEA, and is an active board member and advisor for multiple companies.
